Hey there! My name is Will – I’m a former full-time pastor and worship leader from Texas who continues to pursue God and His will for my life outside the boundaries of formal religious structures.
I’m a husband, a father, and currently work at a local community college. I love studying the Bible and seeking where the Lord is leading both my family and I.
MY STORY
I’ve been involved in both camping ministry and full-time ministry as a children’s worship pastor, youth worship pastor, and college/young adult pastor. I have been privileged to study at a couple of the nation’s finest universities, yet all of that is really rubbish
Although I’ve been a Christian most of my life, it hasn’t been until the last decade or so that I’ve really discovered a fun and exciting relationship with Christ. I’ve found more freedom, greater intimacy, and feel like I am living an adventure every day following Him.
I’m an avid reader both of God’s word and other books. I love studying the Scripture and seeing what treasures I can find. i’m also an avid listener when it comes to my relationship with Father. I believe that God speaks to all of us and you can learn to listen to Him, just like I have.
My goal is to challenge you to read and explore God’s word, to develop a close friendship with Father, Son, and Spirit, and to grow in your faith and freedom in Christ.
SO WHY THE FAITH BREWING BLOG?
I started blogging a number of years ago. I love to write and explore. I have a passion to see others grow in their faith and come to understand the life and freedom they have in Christ.
I want a place where people can ask questions, learn more about their faith, and learn together how to live out our faith in Christ. I want to share with you what I’m learning and where I’m growing but also hear from you.
If you don’t yet believe in Jesus, I want you to feel free to engage and ask questions (doubts are fine and lots of exploring is encouraged). God promises that He will reveal Himself to those who seek Him. If you desire that, all you have to do is ask Him. There are no rituals or formulas or hoops you have to jump through – just a simple request is all it takes to begin your journey. And then watch for Him to begin showing Himself to you in your life.
If you already are a follower of Christ, I hope this blog will encourage you to dig deeper, not accept the status quo, and challenge yourself to “test everything and hold fast to what is good” (whether it comes from this blog, another blog, or even your church’s leaders). I want you to be a student of God’s Word, to learn to hear your shepherd, Jesus, and discover in a wider community what God reveals about Himself.
Here’s what I want you to discover:
- The depth of God’s love for you.
- The freedom you have in Christ.
- Confidence in your ability to read the Bible and hear from God.
- What it means to develop a close relationship with Jesus.
- What it means to live by the Spirit.
- How to pray with boldness.
- And much, much more…
